Please plan to have at least one troop representative attend. The Monthly leaders meetings are our primary channel for distributing important community information.

This site has been updated and linked to a new GSWP site. Field Notes and the Program Books are now available on line thru GSWP's website.  Be sure to check the links via girlscoutswp.org.

GREAT NEWS about GOLD AWARDS

The board of Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson, Inc. is proud to recognize the Girl Scout Gold Award achievement of our girls with a gift of lifetime membership to Girl Scouting.

We offer this gift as both a tribute to this distinction and a symbol of our intention to keep them close to our hearts as they move on with their lives.

This gift is being launched in 2008 with a generous contribution from an anonymous donor who has stepped forward in support of this decision. It is our hope that this contribution will inspire other alumnae to do the same, setting an example of future leadership for our girls and creating a legacy for years to come.

TROOP REGISTRATION

Julia Soning is our new registrar so please contact her before September 30 to register your troop if you plan to continue on, if not please let me or Julia know so we can stop harassing you to register, Julia’s phone number is: 472-8211.

OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEER AWARDS

January is the time of year to start thinking about nominating your co-leader or any other outstanding troop volunteer for an award. Nominees must be registered girl scout adults for at least 2 years.

LEADER GREEN CARDS

We are trying to update all our files regarding all your paperwork, please send or fax to Mary Blumenthal Lane a copy of your green card with all your training on it  472-8697 or 10 Donellan Road.

HOUSEKEEPING

We have been very busy cleaning the girl scout house here and expect all users to keep the house looking better than when they found it, that means vacuuming up after you are finished with your meeting, wiping down the counters and tables, putting back tables and chairs, and taking out the garbage when you are finished, make sure the oven and stoves are off before you leave, and make sure the bathrooms are hospitable for the next user coming in.  This is a job the girls can do, please have them help out, they do love to clean up and they do not get the chance very often, you would be surprised at their eagerness to clean.
The loft area is off limits to the girls, it is dangerous for them to be up there, please do not let your girls go up to the loft.
Please DO NOT leave any food in the storage areas, we do not want to attract rodents.

LEADERSHIP

We are looking for new leadership for some of our multiple positions that are critical for our yearly planning.  If you think you might be interested in helping out in areas such as registration, annual giving, QSP, or cookies please let us know, some of us are aging out and we do need to be replaced with some younger blood.

PROJECT IDEAS

Jane Bedichek 723-7021 has some wonderful ideas for any troop that may be interested in growing plants; she has seeds as well as cuttings and ideas.

TROOP FINANCIAL REPORTS

Leaders must complete a Troop Financial Reports by the end of June of each year to SEGS Treasurer, Mary Ellis.  Beginning this June, GSWP has set a new requirement that the May or June troop bank statement be included with the Financial Report.  Thank you for your cooperation.
